"Tathagata" delves into the heart of a Buddhist kingdom where caste oppression festers despite spiritual teachings. Haridas, a revered artisan, is falsely accused of blasphemy by the powerful elite. As he fights for justice, the play confronts the hypocrisy within the caste-based society, exposing deep-rooted prejudices and injustices. Through Haridas and the Dasi’s journey, the narrative becomes a poignant reflection on societal divisions and the struggle for equality, echoing themes of liberation and enlightenment.
